MINDFULNESS
Abigail began her journey as a mindfulness teacher in 2014 when she worked and trained with Living Mindfully CIC and the Centre for Mindfulness, Bangor University. Abigail now brings her creative talents to meet mindfulness in a range of workshop opportunities for young people and adults in a fun and completely engaging way (see below). She is also an intrinsic part of the development of the ground-breaking Know Your Mind programme, pioneered by Mud and Lotus, and is proud to be working in schools and the community to help bring the benefits of mindful living to young people.
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is a way of working consciously with your own unfolding experience of the world by learning to experience the present moment for what it really is. We can do this by learning to focus on the breath and the body in real time, noticing and focusing on our own thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and actions.
HOW CAN MINDFULNESS HELP?
When we practice mindfulness, we can become more open to our actual experiences and accept them for what they are in that moment. We nudge ever closer to who we really are, what we really want and how to live the best lives we can. We can learn to notice and savour the good times as well as find the inner strength we need to manage the difficult times.
